Find out which wines were ranked the best at our latest Top12Wines All White tasting in South Africa. These wines have been ranked blindly by a sample of wine amateurs without knowing their reputation nor price! This tasting offered a nice selection of many grape varieties – Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Sémillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier.

More about Glenwood Vineyards who reached the first rank with its Glenwood Chardonnay Vigneron Selection 2016 :

VINEYARD: “Simple, Natural, Quality” is the Philosophy of the GleenWood Vineyards, located in Robertsvlei valley, seven kilometers from Franschhoek village. Being surrounded by mountains, GlenWood has its own micro climate with temperatures about five degrees lower than in the main Franschhoek valley.

WINE: GlenWood Chardonnay Vigneron Selection 2016 is made from 26-years-old vines with a low canopy and minimal irrigation used. The fruit ripened slowly allowing the development of small bunches with highly concentrated flavours. “Bold and powerful citrus burst, mouth-fillingly rich and creamy vanilla with beautifully integrated oak” - those are the words that best describe this perfect wine…
